Scheduled Games For Sunday
8:00am to 11:00am
Caverna, 8:00am to 11:30am -- Hosted by Marius van der Merwe
Number of players: up to 7, Run time: 30-210 minutes
Description: Following along the same lines as its predecessor (Agricola), Caverna: The Cave Farmers is a worker-placement game at heart, with a focus on farming. In the game, you are the bearded leader of a small dwarf family that lives in a little cave in the mountains. You begin the game with a farmer and his spouse, and each member of the farming family represents an action that the player can take each turn. Together, you cultivate the forest in front of your cave and dig deeper into the mountain. You furnish the caves as dwellings for your offspring as well as working spaces for small enterprises. It's up to you how much ore you want to mine. You will need it to forge weapons that allow you to go on expeditions to gain bonus items and actions. While digging through the mountain, you may come across water sources and find ore and ruby mines that help you increase your wealth. Right in front of your cave, you can increase your wealth even further with agriculture: You can cut down the forest to sow fields and fence in pastures to hold your animals. You can also expand your family while running your ever-growing farm. In the end, the player with the most efficiently developed home board wins.
You can also play the solo variant of this game to familiarize yourself with the 48 different furnishing tiles for your cave.
Caverna: The Cave Farmers, which has a playing time of roughly 30 minutes per player, is a complete redesign of Agricola that substitutes the card decks from the former game with a set of buildings while adding the ability to purchase weapons and send your farmers on quests to gain further resources. Designer Uwe Rosenberg says that the game includes parts of Agricola, but also has new ideas, especially the cave part of your game board, where you can build mines and search for rubies. The game also includes two new animals: dogs and donkeys.

Settlers of America: Trails to Rails, 9:00am to 11:00am -- Hosted by Mark Curtiss
Number of players: 3-4, Run time: 2 hours
Description: Settlers of America: Trails to Rails uses the familiar Catan hex-tile grid to present a map of the United States. Players collect and trade resources in order to purchase, migrate and build settlements, forge railroads, and acquire locomotives. Railroads are used to distribute goods to the interconnected cities. As westward locations are settled, old sources of resources deplete. The addition of gold adds to the depth of play and increases options for the players.

11:00am to 2:00pm
T.I.M.E Stories, 11:00am to 3:00pm -- Hosted by Mark Curtiss
Number of players: 2-4, Run time: 1.5-4 hours
Description: T.I.M.E Stories is a narrative game, a game of "decksploration". Each player is free to give their character as deep a "role" as they want, in order to live through a story, as much in the game as around the table. But it's also a board game with rules which allow for reflection and optimization.
At the beginning of the game, the players are at their home base and receive their mission briefing. The object is then to complete it in as few attempts as possible. The actions and movements of the players will use Temporal Units (TU), the quantity of which depend on the scenario and the number of players. Each attempt is called a "run"; one run equals the use of all of the Temporal Units at the players' disposal. When the TU reach zero, the agents are recalled to the agency, and restart the scenario from the beginning, armed with their experience. The object of the game is to make the perfect run, while solving all of the puzzles and overcoming all of a scenario’s obstacles.
Burgle Bros., 1:00pm to 3:00pm -- Hosted by Mary Feiler
Number of players: 1-4, Run time: 45-90 minutes
Description: Burgle Bros. is a cooperative game for 1-4 players. Players are unique members of a crew trying to pull off a robbery of a highly secure building — without getting caught. The building has three floors (4x4 tiles), each with its own safe to crack. Players start on the first floor and have to escape to their helicopter waiting on the roof.
Players each have three stealth tokens. Whenever they are on the same tile with a guard, they lose one. If any player is caught without a stealth token, the game is over. If players can open all three safes, and escape through the stairs to the roof they win.
Family Games (kid friendly), 1:00pm to 4:00pm -- Hosted by Dave and Liz Nicoll
Number of players: up to 20, Run time: varies 3 hour block
Description: Tempura/Kitten Klash/Strawberry Ninja/What's Up/Roarasaurus/Chopstick/Dr. Eureka
Sagrada, 1:00pm to 2:00pm -- Hosted by Stephanie Bryant
Number of players: 2-6, Run time: 30 minutes - 1 hour
Description: As a skilled artisan, you will use tools-of-the-trade and careful planning to construct a stained glass window masterpiece in the Sagrada Familia. Players will take turns drafting glass pieces, represented by dice; carefully choosing where to place each one in their window. Windows have unique color and shade requirements, and similar dice may never be adjacent so placing each die is more challenging than the last.
Vejen, 1:00pm to 4:00pm -- Hosted by Dion Garner
Number of players: 3, Run time: 3 hours
Description: In Vejen, players slip into the role of traders in the late Middle Ages. On many small paths which connect villages in Denmark and Germany, players must set up trading houses, upgrade their ox cart, buy goods, travel long distances, and resell goods. The game has both a Danish and a German currency, which can change at any time.
A game lasts twelve rounds, with each round being divided into four phases:
1. Event phase
2. Income phase
3. Action phase
4. Round-end phase
5. Evaluation phase (only after round 12)
At the beginning of an event phase, a new event tile is revealed. An event consists of two parts, one part changing the bid price and the other having events that change the interaction between the players, restrict movement on the game board, or similar.
During the income phase, each player receives resources from the trading houses they've built.
The main phase is the action phase, during which players can buy resources, build buildings, travel over the Haerveje, and sell resources in other places. You always have to keep an eye on the price in order to sell as profitably as possible. They can accept assignments to get more profit.
Only those who expand their trading network and develop their oxcart will be able to win in the end.

Skull, 5:00pm to 6:00pm -- Hosted by Mary Feiler
Number of players: 3-6, Run time: 45 minutes
Description: Skull is a bluffing game in which everything is played in the players' heads. Each player plays a face-down card, then each player in turn adds one more card – until someone feels safe enough to state that he can turn a number of cards face up and get only flowers. Other players can then overbid him, saying they can turn even more cards face up. The highest bidder must then turn that number of cards face up, starting with his own. If he shows only flowers, he wins; if he reveals a skull, he loses, placing one of his cards out of play. Two successful challenges wins the game. Skull & Roses is not a game of luck; it's a game of poker face and meeting eyes.
